Piano Festival
A festival celebrating piano music, supported by professional concert pianist Joshua Kelly. The festival will begin with a masterclass, in which Joshua Kelly will explore the finer of performing Mozart’s K333 piano sonata. Students are welcome to prepare parts of this sonata if they wish to participate, but similarly students are welcome to just come along and learn about how to perform Mozart without performing this piece.
Following on from the masterclass, will be a student piano concert, in which students will perform a solo piano piece and will receive written feedback from Joshua Kelly on their performances. Three prizes will be presented for outstanding performances. Players of all abilities are invited to participate.
Joshua Kelly is a highly regarded classical pianist, both as a solo and chamber ensemble performer. In the year of his graduation (2014), he came first place in both the Besbrode Piano Competition and the Leeds College of Music Concerto Competition. From then on, his performing career has gone from strength to strength. This year alone has seen Joshua perform a number of concerts at the International Chopin Music Festival in Warsaw, Poland and at the World Piano Conference in Serbia, to name just a couple of his many concert engagements. If you would like a sample of Joshua Kelly’s work, you can see him perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, K. 488 HERE.
